New Evidence-Based Practice Training Institute Launched
Workshop Registration Begins Today
WORCESTER - The Bridge of Central Massachusetts has launched a new Training Institute to provide professional development workshops to our colleagues regarding Evidence-Based Practices and Best Practice Treatments.
"The main goal of this program is to ensure that clients with complex psychological conditions receive the best treatment," according to Stephen Murphy, Director of Business Development for The Bridge. "With this Institute, The Bridge will provide training in treatments that work."
Murphy is spearheading the The Bridge Training Institute launch and has been working for months with Bridge trustees and staff to design a comprehensive professional development curriculum intended to help social workers, therapists, guidance counselors and others understand and implement the kinds of treatments that are scientifically proven to work.
The first workshop, "Understanding and Treating Persons with Multiple Self-Harm Behaviors," is scheduled for September. Dr. Barent Walsh, executive director of The Bridge and an internationally-recognized expert in the field of treating self-injury, will lead the seminar.
Future workshops will include Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Illness Management & Recovery seminars. More information is available online at www.thebridgetraininginstitute.org
