New site will highlight Evidence-Based Practices

 This week The Bridge of Central Massachusetts launched a new Web site for the agency's Training Institute.

The Bridge Training InstituteThe site, www.thebridgetraininginstitute.org will feature information on upcoming professional development workshops sponsored by The Bridge, as well as resources regarding Evidence-Based Practices and Best Practices.

The site was developed by Pirata Media with funding from Mount Wachusett Community College's Compassion Capital Fund Demonstration Sustainability Award program.

The Bridge Training Institute is led by the agency's Director of Business Development, Stephen Murphy. He said everyone involved with the Training Institute is very excited to see the site launched.

"We are delighted with the site," he said. "It will be a resource for mental health professionals and will make it very easy for people to register for our upcoming workshops."

The Bridge Training Institute will kick off a second season of workshops for mental health and school professionals in October with a day-long training 'First Response to Traumatic Events - Psychological First Aid" by trauma experts Robert Macy, Ph.D. and Larry Berkowitz, Ed.D. In November, The Bridge's own Dr. Barry Walsh will present a workshop "New Developments in Understanding and Treating Self-Injurious Behavior.
