Holiday Gifts
In the summer when the planning began, finding gifts for over 750 people served by The Bridge seemed impossible to the Development Committee. Wanja Kiraguri, Resource Development Coordinator, was excited about the possibilities and had first hand experience with the need since she had worked at the Sigel Street Supported Housing program for four years. She put together a committee and the results are truly a miracle. The children, teens and adults didn’t ask for much – hats, mittens, towels, sweatshirts, sweaters, board games and sox – mostly necessities. The gift for many was the only gift they received.
Once again this year, through unexpected kindness and generosity the wishes of all were fulfilled. From the youngest child to our senior citizens, everyone was sponsored. It is the season to believe. Thank you to our committee and volunteers: Anne Cataldo, Heather Root, Pat Gagne, Dave Peterson, Carol Tripp Tebo, Christina Foley, Tina Hyland, Wanja Kiraguri, Bruce Plummer, Annie Yai , and Tina DiNardo
We are so grateful to the many staff and their family members that sponsored one or more of our individuals and to the companies, churches, and schools that had gift drives! Thank You: Algonquin Regional High School, Northborough; Boxwell’s, Westborough; First Assembly of God Church, Worcester; Hosanna Gospel Center, Worcester; Kohls Department Store, Millbury; St. Luke’s Church, Westborough; St. Mary’s Church, Holden ; St. George’s Church, Worcester; Anna Maria College; Verizon Pioneers, Marlborough; Worcester Sharks, Worcester Tornadoes, Westborough High School Fine Arts Department, and United Way of Tri-County.
